I The Opening
One Man Prophecy
Sole witness No committee Ongoing
II The Claim
A prophecy with an audience of one still has to come true.
III The Terms
onemanprophecy
/wʌn mæn ˈprɒfəsi/ — noun
- i. one man
- No committee approved this. No crowd validated it. Every decision carries one signature, including the wrong ones.
- ii. prophecy
- Not a prediction. A claim about the future that obligates whoever made it.
- iii. onemanprophecy
- The arrangement itself: the one who says it is the one who has to build it. There is no second party to blame.
IV The Record
Nothing is entered yet. The first claim goes in dated, and it stays there whatever it turns out to be — KEPT, LATE, or OPEN.
V The Discipline
- I. Say it before it is safe to say.
- II. Date it. A claim without a date is a wish.
- III. Ship the smallest thing that proves it.
- IV. Keep the receipts, including the ones that embarrass you.
- V. Outlast the people who were certain.
VI The Witness
One person writes this. One person is accountable for it.
Nothing here was approved by anyone, which is the risk and also the point.
If a claim on this page goes unkept, the fault has exactly one address.
